Technical notes
The electronic unit injector combines the fuel pump and nozzle in one unit per cylinder, with injection timing and quantity commanded electronically by the engine control module. After fitting, each injector's trim code must be uploaded to the control module so that the module compensates for unit-to-unit manufacturing variation and keeps cylinder fuelling balanced; skipping this step causes rough running and imbalance. Order by the engine's part group and confirm the control module software level. Renew injectors as a matched set across the engine where possible, and verify the trim codes are recorded on commissioning.
