Technical notes

The 7C3614 is the Caterpillar engine-driven sea water (raw water) pump fitted across the 3408, 3412, 3508, 3512 and 3516 marine engine families, including the 3512B. It circulates cooling water through the heat-exchanger circuit and is driven from the front of the engine. The 7C3614 supersedes the earlier 5N2600 and is supplied complete with the 5N2618 bronze, twenty-blade impeller, so a separate impeller order is not normally required. Documented cross-references include 0R7721 and the Gilkes M-Series 44953-054. Before fitting, verify the drive arrangement, rotation and pulley against the pump being replaced, as mounting details vary across the 3400 and 3500 marine range.
